The Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance says regional clean-tech companies' revenue grew by 29 percent to more than $2.1 billion in 2012.
SARTA's CleanStart Progress Report, released Friday, also said year-over-year employment in the region's clean-tech sector swelled by 31 percent to more than 3,200 jobs.
Both marks are all-time highs, putting Sacramento among the top U.S. metropolitan areas in the clean economy/energy industries.
SARTA said there are now 99 clean-tech companies in the region.
"Several of the Sacramento region's cleantech companies are not only succeeding locally but are also having national and international success in sales, increased head count, the introduction of innovative new products and game-changing corporate partnerships that are sure to catapult these local firms further in 2013," said Gary Simon, SARTA CleanStart chairman.
