Keep those umbrellas handy, Sacramento. The National Weather Service is predicting more scattered showers in the region through Monday.
For today, expect mostly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of showers. Highs should hover around 58 degrees.
"A weak system is moving through for the weekend," said weather service forecaster Karl Swanberg. "Temperatures will be cooling a bit."
But there is good news on the horizon. The beginning of the work week looks dry, Swanberg said, as the system moves out of the region.
Here's the seven-day forecast:
Today: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 60. West wind 3 to 6 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. South-southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Light north-northwest wind increasing to 8 to 13 mph in the morning. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. North-northwest wind 8 to 13 mph.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56 North-northwest winds 8 to 11 mph.
Monday night: Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise mostly clear, with a low around 37.
Tuesday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 60.
Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 61.
Wednesday night: Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 37.
Thursday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 61.
Thursday night: Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 40.
Friday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 60.
