Re "Should county approve Cordova Hills?" (Viewpoints, Jan. 27): There are so many misrepresentations on the proposed Cordova Hills project slated for Sacramento County supervisors' consideration today. First, there are no hills out there, more like undulations. There is "Mount Kiefer" -- the adjacent landfill. There is no university, but maybe the developer is hoping for a "Field of Dreams" kind of apparition.
Approval of this project will only guarantee further decreased property values for this already overdeveloped area, increased draws on non-existent water supplies, threats of lawsuits for pollution from the adjacent landfill, increased traffic in an area already overburdened, and, if the supervisors care, further decreased belief that our local governing board gives a hoot about what is best for our area as opposed to what is best for one developer.
