Re "Deadly falls on the rise among seniors" (Page A1, Jan. 28): Here's a practical idea: Accept the reality that you don't walk any more, you waddle.
Equilibrium is mostly a memory. Compensate by planning every step. Steady yourself by holding on to table tops, grab bars, and whatever else you can reach that's anchored.
Above all, slow down. Take it from this 88-year-old, it works.
