Re "Voter suppression is GOP goal" (Letters, Jan. 29): Readers who make unsubstantiated statements regarding Electoral College reform fail to mention two positive possibilities. One, we would have a president elected by popular vote. Shouldn't the person receiving the most votes be our president?
And two, candidates would campaign in more states, not just those with a large number of electoral votes. Eliminating the Electoral College has nothing to do with voter suppression or long lines. I don't want to vote for an elector, I want to vote for a candidate.
