Re "In the lead, Seattle is hearing footsteps" (Page A1, Jan. 30): Since the talk about the Sacramento Kings being sold, many people have been working overtime to save what they so desperately believe. Mayor Kevin Johnson has been doing a stupendous job using the resources that he has at hand and the ones he's acquired as an NBA player. The fans protested with a blackout by wearing all black to one game. The business community has come together with 21 local investors to pledge a million dollars apiece to support the purchase of the Kings.
The love for the Kings can be felt politically, business-wise and personally. Fighting for something you believe in is a sign of great character. Sacramento, let the fight continue and may Sacramento still end up with a KING!
