Re "Supervisors OK 2,700-acre plan at Cordova Hills" (Page A1, Jan. 30): It causes me great concern that the issue of protecting the new population that will inhabit the new community of Cordova Hills was not considered when voting to approve this project. In Orangevale and Fair Oaks we are dependent on the transient Sacramento County Sheriff's Department responding to emergencies from the Garfield East Sacramento office. Emergency services are crippled because of wait time for peace officers to arrive when a crime is involved. You may have to transport yourself to emergency in the family car.
