STOCKTON Sama Taku scored 15 points to lead Pacific to a 77-64 victory over UC Davis on Saturday night.
The score was 41-41 early in the second half when Taku and Kahlil Kelley made two baskets each to help the Tigers lead 50-42 with 15:24 remaining. Pacific (13-8, 7-2 Big West Conference) never let the Aggies come closer than five the rest of the way.
Josh Ritchart had 22 points and made 5 of 11 three-point attempts for UC Davis (8-12, 4-5). Ryan Sypkens added 14 points, making 4 of 6 three-point attempts.
Sacramento State 93, Southern Utah 86 at the Nest Fantasia Hilliard had a strong all-around game as the Hornets won for the sixth time in the last eight games, Sac State reported.
Hilliard, a sophomore from Sacramento High School, had a career-high 24 points to go with 10 assists, eight rebounds and eight steals.
Sac State (12-8, 7-4 Big Sky Conference) led 48-40 at halftime. The Thunderbirds (10-10, 5-5) opened the second half with a 19-5 run to lead 59-53.
But the Hornets responded with a 17-4 surge to lead 70-63 with 10:15 left and never trailed again.
UC Irvine 70, UC Davis 57 at the Pavilion The Anteaters (5-16, 1-8 Big West) ended an eight-game losing streak by beating the Aggies (9-11, 4-5), UC Davis reported.
Cortney French tied her career high with six three-pointers and had 20 points for UC Davis, which had a three-game winning streak halted.
The Aggies were outscored 10-0 in the final 4:49.
