A Silver Alert has been issued for Citrus Heights resident Carl Raymond Sheldrake, 80, reported missing by a family member on Saturday.
The California Highway Patrol initiated the alert about 8 p.m. Saturday, following an investigation by Citrus Heights police. Silver Alert is a nationwide public notification system to broadcast information about missing people, especially seniors with Alzheimer's Disease, dementia or other mental disability.
Police do not suspect foul play in Sheldrake's disappearance. He is believed to be driving his 2006 gold Hyundai Sonata, license plate # 5SLK931, and may be attempting to travel to family in Santa Rosa, Redwood Valley or the Reno area, police said.
Sheldrake is believed to be traveling alone. Anyone with information on Sheldrake's location is asked to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department at (916) 727-5500.
