Again, DeMarcus Cousins?

Really?

The Kings center showed again Monday night what a bonehead he can be, displaying a disturbing lack of judgment that, if it continues, seems more and more likely to limit a very promising NBA career.

We don't recall a player ever being ejected during halftime, but if it was going to happen to anyone, you almost figured it would be Cousins.

He said all he wanted was an explanation from referee Tre Maddox for the technical foul he was given with 2:23 left in the first half. But approaching the officials at halfcourt and reportedly swearing at them is never a good idea.

As Kings coach Keith Smart said, "The part where it is halftime and you are walking toward them, you will probably always get in trouble doing that."

Cousins already had one technical and knew another would get him tossed, so why didn't he put his head down and go quietly into the locker room? Only Cousins knows the answer, but watching his scowls and flapping jowls, it's obvious he thinks officials treat him unfairly.

And maybe they do, given his constant bellyaching over calls and noncalls. They're human, too, and maybe they've just had enough, like many Kings fans.

During the offseason, Kings bosses need to decide if they think Cousins can learn from his mistakes and be able to control himself enough to be the leader this team needs.
