(916) 961-3342
Hours: 11 a.m.-midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-1 a.m. Sunday
Happy hour: 3-7 p.m. daily, 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Sunday
The real steal: Appetizers such as stuffed portabella mushrooms, wings, tacos and chicken strips range from $3.50 to $6.50, salads $4 to $7, and sandwiches $5 to $6.50. Freshly cut fries (called couch potatoes) range from $3 to $5. The couch sundae is $4.
Well drinks and shots range from $3.50 to $5.50 and couch specialty cocktails $4 to $6. Domestic draft beers range from $2 to $6 and import beers from $3.25 to $10. Wines are $4 by the glass and bottled beer goes for $2 to $3.75.
The vibe: The restaurant name derives from the idea that the couch is the most comfortable spot in the house. This sports lounge has plenty of couches, including on the covered patio. There are also high tables and regular tables, 11 flat-screen television sets (including one on the patio), a mirrored wall of liquor and a pool table. Black-and-white pictures feature couches. The VIP area has couches for complimentary reservations.
Signature drink: The most popular domestic draft beers are Coors Light and Bud Light ($6 for a pitcher). A Dirty Mary ($5 during happy hour) is made with extra olive juice for a balance of spiciness, tartness and smoothness.
Alternative libations: A huge selection of shots and shooters range from $3.50 to $5.50 during happy hour. Flavored vodka ranges from blueberry to root beer to fruit loop and orange whip. The bar can whip up something to quench your craving for a certain flavor.
The Heartbreaker ($5.50), which was taught to the bartenders from a customer vacationing from Australia, is made with lime, muddled cherries, vodka, Rockstar energy drink and grenadine, and is served in a pint glass.
Something extra: All the food is made in-house, from soups to salad dressings, and all the meats are slow-cooked.
Karaoke night is Wednesday at 8, and in late February there will be a Make-a-Wish Foundation karaoke contest. On Saturday nights '80s and '90s cover bands play from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday night is industry night with happy hour prices and $3 shooters from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with DJ Alazzawi.
