Re "Enforce teen driving laws" (Letters, Feb. 7): No amount of legislation, no increase of traffic stops, no stricter parental control can or will prevent all future tragedies. As parents, despite all our teaching and instruction, we know that young people will make bad decisions. We hope and pray they will not be the life-altering decisions that they will have to live with their entire lives.
In this heartbreaking case, choices were made and lives were ended and forever altered. To the families of the girls who were killed, I pray that somehow you will find peace in the knowledge that they are in the arms of God. To the family of the young man, my heartfelt prayers for you and your family for I cannot fathom your pain. And just for today, community, express compassion rather than fault.
