SCUSD Superintendent Jonathan Raymond waits his turn to speak to parents in the cafeteria before Wednesday nights SCUSD's community meeting at Mark Hopkins Elementary school in South Sacramento. The Sacramento City Unified School District is proposing to close 11 under-enrolled elementary schools at the end of the school year. The vote on the closures is scheduled for Feb. 28. The district is holding community meetings at each of the 11 schools, including one at Mark Hopkins and Susan B. Anthony elementary schools on Wednesday. Tonight, district trustees will discuss the closures at a school board meeting that begins at 6:30 at the Serna Center, 5735 47th Avenue.
