Dylan Garrity scored 15 points, John Dickson 13, and Sacramento State avoided another close conference loss by beating visiting Eastern Washington 61-55 Thursday night.
Garrity made three three-pointers and had six assists for the Hornets (11-10, 6-7 Big Sky), who came in with three one-point losses in conference play, including Monday's 62-61 heartbreaker to Northern Arizona.
Collin Chiverton had 12 points off the bench for the Eagles (6-17, 4-9).
Sac State led for most of the game, but Eastern Washington pulled ahead midway through the second half and went up 48-44 after Thomas Reuter's three-pointer with 8:43 to play.
Sac State scored the next 10 points, capped by Mikh McKinney's two free throws with 4:15 left to take the lead for good.
UC Davis 64, UC Santa Barbara 56 in Santa Barbara Corey Hawkins scored 20 points, and the Aggies (9-12, 5-5 Big West Conference) held the Gauchos (7-15, 3-8) to 18.5 percent from three-point range.
UCD ended a nine-game losing streak against the Gauchos, who didn't lead and suffered their fifth straight loss.
Eastern Washington 63, Sac State 49 in Cheney, Wash. Megan Kritscher snapped the season program record for blocked shots, but the Eagles (13-9, 9-4 Big Sky) held the Hornets (12-9, 7-5) to a season low in points, according to Sac State's athletics website.
Kritscher swatted six shots to give her 85 this season, breaking Heidi Carroll's mark of 83.
UC Santa Barbara 60, UC Davis 52 Sydnee Fipps led all scorers with 16 points, and Molly Greubel added 14 points, but the visiting Gauchos (10-13, 6-4 Big West) held off a late Aggies (9-12, 4-6) rally, UCD reported.
