Gun control is a hot topic in Granite Bay High School's government class. We students mainly believe that federal gun laws going into effect won't affect California, as we are one of few states with strict gun laws. If we still have gun crime in California, why doesn't the federal government recognize that new gun control laws won't prevent violence? A majority of the class believes these new laws will do little to nothing to prevent gun crime, but will be a waste of money and resources.
