Kaiser Permanente is partnering with Drexel University's Philadelphia-based medical school to bring as many as 16 third-year medical students to work and train in the Sacramento region.

The arrival of the medical students from Philadelphia this summer will launch a year's worth of clinical rotations through Kaiser facilities in Sacramento, south Sacramento, Roseville and Vallejo.

The medical students will help in areas of pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, surgery, outpatient psychiatry and adult medicine.

Pre-med students from Drexel's campus in Sacramento have already had opportunities to observe Kaiser's model of care through a 10-month physician shadowing program started in March 2011.
