Re "Texas vs. California - here's a reality check" (Viewpoints, Feb. 12): People prolonging the silly cat fight of California versus Texas miss being in 8th grade. Choose where you are happiest and where your lifestyle goals are met, and live there.
Living in Texas for thirty years, and California for twenty-five, it seems the best place is where you choose to be. Both states are deep in Hispanic heritage. Both are vast with towns of peculiarity and interest.
Both are rich in natural resources, some utilized and others yet to be. Both have vacillated on political stances over the years. Both sent their children into World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq. Both have great universities and innovative industry. Both have one star on the American flag, neither greater nor lesser than the other, identical in size, shape and consequence.
