Re "Lawmaker pushes repeal of welfare's family cap" (Page A1, Feb. 13): Jessica Bartholow's assumption that the family welfare cap is a means of controlling the reproductive decisions-making of the very poor individuals is way off base.
Why do people think it is their right to force taxpayers of this state to pay more to people who cannot afford more children in the first place? I guess I am too blunt.
A responsible married couple has children based on their desires and ability to provide for their children they have. Meg Whitman was right about the state being a welfare magnet.
