Sacramento County supervisors Wednesday appointed a member to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District board, after an election last fall failed to generate any candidates.
Supervisors appointed Ted Wood, an attorney in California for 14 years with experience in civil litigation, insurance coverage, public entity law and other issues. He previously worked in the insurance industry.
Wood replaces Jim Newcomer in the District 4 seat. Newcomer was also an appointee, having replaced a board member who moved out of state.
Supervisors, Metro Fire board members and county officials interviewed applicants before selecting Wood.
