Re "Preschool initiative's funding questioned" Page A1, Feb. 14): President Barack Obama's proposal for expanding high quality preschool to all children has met with questions about how to pay for it.
The bottom line is that we either find some way to invest now or pay seven times that amount later. When each person has an increased chance for success, and they do with good preschool, there is less chance of unemployment, teen pregnancy and criminal behavior.
We fail to understand that investing now saves money in the future.
