Re "America's struggle with cooking" (Forum, Feb. 10): As a college student in the 1960s, I read a magazine article about how men could attract women. It was titled, "Eight Great Things." The premise was that a guy would be supremely attractive to girls if he could master eight excellent recipes and cook for them. It worked for me. So, a way to emphasize American's cooking skills, especially for men wanting to attract women, is to cook for them. And the way to do so is to master eight great things. I'm betting that it would work for women, too.
