Re "Finally, aid for severely mentally ill?" (Dan Morain, Feb. 10): We praise Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, Sen. Leland Yee and Sen. Lou Correa's efforts to clarify that Proposition 63 funds may be used to implement Laura's Law.
New York's version reduced homelessness, arrests, and incarceration of the seriously mentally ill over 70 percent each.
Steinberg should also stop MHSA funds from being used to prevent Laura's Law implementation.
The Mental Health Services Act Oversight Commission approved almost $3 million for Disability Rights California (DRC). DRC threatens to sue counties that implement Laura's Law.
Steinberg should eliminate needlessly burdensome provisions requiring county boards of supervisors to have a separate vote to implement Laura's Law. This is not required of any other MHSA funded program.

• Don't flag other users' comments just because you don't agree with their point of view. Please only flag comments that violate these guidelines.
