Young farmers and ranchers in California donated more than 10 million pounds of food to Golden State families in 2012, topping all states with participation in the "Harvest for All" program.
Harvest for All is a program of the American Farm Bureau Federation's Young Farmers and Ranchers. Feeding America also is a partner. Food supplied by farms, ranches, processors and packing houses went to food banks for distribution.
Since Harvest for All was launched in 2003, more than 83 million meals have been served. Farmers and ranchers also donate money and volunteer hours to the program.
