Re "Levee fixes grind to a halt" (Page A1, Feb. 16): Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Elk Grove, is a real case study. He says since his constituents chose to not live in a flood area, they should not have to pay taxes to pay for levees. I chose not to live in his district. So by his reasoning, I should not have to pay taxes for forest fire protection or snow removal. Is this what we have come to? This is classic Republican logic.
