Re "Digging in for quarry fight" (Page A1, Feb. 17): The environmental impact report was completely inadequate in several areas, particularly as it related to noise generated by moving and filling two 4,800-foot trains every day.
As more detailed information becomes available, it is obvious that the project proponents have not been honest and forthright in their dealings with adjacent land owners.
Isn't it odd how this project is touted as creating jobs and revenue. But there has not been one shred of evidence at any time to indicate this project will bring any revenue whatsoever.
With so much potential environmental damage, and no clear idea what if any money would go to the Amador County, the Board of Supervisors voted for the project. The whole thing smells fishy.
