Re "Presidents Day lessons from Mr. Buchanan" (Editorials, Feb. 18): On this Presidents Day, the editorial board provided us with a history lesson from 156 years ago. Instead of dwelling on old news, it would be unique if the board looked at the present.
Gas prices are up 13 percent from last month, pushing $4 a gallon once again. Yet our middle class champion doesn't seem to worry because this weekend his wife jetted off to Aspen to go skiing while he flew to Florida for the weekend in Air Force One to take golf lessons from Butch Harmon and play two rounds with Tiger Woods. With this full plate of fun, one wonders how he can squeeze in enough hours to work on the economy.
