Roxy Stan holds her cat, Katy. Over more than seven decades, Stan has never been without a pet. That streak nearly came to an end last year when Stan and her cat developed health problems. Katy might have ended up in a shelter if not for a new Sacramento SPCA program that aims to keep needy seniors and their pets together.
