Re "Job fair attracts veterans' attention" (Business, Feb. 13): To be blunt, this job far was a waste of time.
Employers didn't seem to be hiring or conducting interviews at the job fair. Veterans were instructed to go check out their prospective websites and apply online. That would have been fine, but we weren't given any special serial numbers or passwords to let a human resources employee know we were qualified veterans who had spoken with representatives at the job fair.
What was worse, though, was the number of for-profit schools that prey on veterans, hoping to get those sweet, sweet GI Bill dollars.
I hope that in the future these sort of job fairs take greater strides to help prospective, qualified employees to find jobs, be they veterans or civilians.
