Re "Don't let up on city's anti-gang campaign" (Editorials, Feb. 14): As a former gang member and now a youth mentor, I agree that Sacramento City Council should continue funding "Ceasefire." Programs like Ceasefire need to branch off into other cities. I am from Santa Barbara and our City Council believes implementing a gang injunction will solve our gang problem, which is not as extreme as Sacramento's. Sacramento and Santa Barbara city have funding and are choosing more punitive practices, instead of funding evidenced-based rehabilitation programs like Ceasefire.
