Re "Notices arrive on long-term care hikes" (Page A1, Feb. 20): CalPERS conducted advertising campaigns in the early 2000's telling all of us that responsible healthcare planning should include the purchase of the long-term care insurance. CalPERS promised that any cost increases would be limited to cost of living increases.
But now CalPERS is imposing an 85% increase. We've been duped big-time. Now we are being told that we should pay or get-out. Getting out would mean to walk away from the $15,000 that we have paid in the past 11 years. I don't think so. We need a class action law suit.
