The California Highway Patrol believes that alcohol may have played a part in a crash that killed a Sacramento driver.
Joshua C. Hanson, 37, was driving on the Garden Highway about a mile west of Power Line Road about 8 p.m. Saturday when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
His pickup truck traveled down a grassy embankment, hit metal gate posts, then overturned several times.
The truck then struck a tree and came to rest on the passenger side.
Hanson was taken to UC Davis Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Two passengers suffered minor-to-moderate injuries. Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to a CHP news release.
