Re "Governor, mood on the upswing" (Page A1, Feb. 21): Are you kidding me? The governor's approval rating is going up? People feel good because the budget's going to be in balance?
I don't think the governor had anything to do with it. The taxpayers who foolishly voted themselves more taxes are the ones who fixed the problem, supposedly. If I could spend like the Legislature and the governor do, I would move out of California, but unfortunately I don't have the money. My family has been here for almost 200 years, but this state is finished. If I'm still alive in two years (I'm almost 80) I'm going to laugh myself silly when the same jerks ask for more taxes. I betcha they do away with Proposition 13!
