Bucking a statewide trend, the median sales price of existing, single-family homes in Sacramento County climbed slightly in January compared with December 2012, according to the California Association of Realtors.
In Sacramento County, January's median of $201,010 was 2.8 percent higher than $195,630 in December and nearly 25 percent higher than $161,080 in January 2012.
The statewide median price of an existing, single-family detached home fell 8.1 percent from December's $366,930 to $337,040 in January.
However, last month's statewide median was up 24.1 percent from a $271,490 in January 2012, marking the 11th consecutive month of annual price increases.
In Sacramento County and throughout California, CAR said home sales were down month-to-month and year-to-year.
CAR cited an expected seasonal slowdown, combined with "a scarcity of available homes for sale."
