Re "Floodplain dwellers should pay full cost for levees" (Another View, Feb. 22): Following the logic of Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Elk Grove, those of us residing in a senior community in North Natomas should be exempted from paying taxes to our local schools. None of us have school-age children.
This would go along way towards funding the remaining work required on the levees. Thank you so much for pointing this out, Congressman McClintock. By the way, when we bought our home in 2003, we were told the levees provided 100-year protection from floods and flood insurance wasn't required.
