Re "Last bell for seven schools" (Page A1, Feb. 23): We are in need of halfway houses to allow people to begin the process of reintegration with society while still providing monitoring and support.
With the schools closing and no plans yet for them, why not turn some of them into halfway homes? They have lots of rooms for beds, bathrooms and a cafeteria.
These schools are closing because there are not enough children in the area, so it makes sense to use these schools for other purposes. I would hope that we could convert them without to much expense.
