Sacramento Bee cartoonist Jack Ohman was named Tuesday as the finalist for the Herb Block Foundation award, one of the nation's most prestigious prizes for editorial cartooning. The foundation, founded by a beloved Washington Post cartoonist, acknowledged Ohman for a body of work for the Oregonian in 2012 that one judge said was "politically brave, formalistically daring and artistically free." Ohman earns a $5,000 prize. The winner, Dan Perkins, a.k.a. "Tom Tomorrow," will receive a $15,000 cash prize at a ceremony this spring at the Library of Congress.
