Re "Treat pot like alcohol, voters say" (Capitol & California, Feb. 27): Wake up politicos and district attorneys and look at the latest Field Poll on pot. Voters want to treat cannabis like alcohol.
Maybe our forever distracted mayor can help some of the better dispensaries in Sacramento to reopen so that medical users no longer fear for their lives when they require their medication.
It would be appreciated if the boss of the U.S. district attorneys, Attorney General Eric Holder, would harass the profiteers on Wall Street instead of cannabis sellers and users from now on.
It is high time that we realize that marijuana is not much stronger than cough syrup, and that it is grossly unfair to close dispensaries who helped so many sick people. Cannabis should be made available to those who need it and want it, as the voters in Washington and Oregon have made clear.
