Re "Scary talk aside, effect of cuts hard to predict" (Page A1, Feb. 28): There are Americans out there that think the Republicans are destroying our economy by refusing to compromise with President Barack Obama and his tax and spend philosophy.
Obama is a socialist who believes in Big Government and transfer of wealth through entitlements. Republicans also believe in entitlements, however, they believe you are "entitled" to keep what you earn, and not what you can take from others. The Republicans are trying to save the nation and our way of life by slowing or stopping the ever increasing number of entitlement programs. If the rationale for their efforts is understood, hopefully they will have your support.
Please understand that the Republican Party has as many crooks and incompetents as the Democratic Party, it's just that the Republicans' goals have a better chance of preventing our economy from collapsing than that offered by the Democrats.

• Don't repeat the same comment over and over. We heard you the first time.
• Do not use the commenting system for advertising. That's spam and it isn't allowed.
• Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.
• Don't flag other users' comments just because you don't agree with their point of view. Please only flag comments that violate these guidelines.

Remember, comment moderation is subjective. You may find some material objectionable that we won't and vice versa.
