Re "A tough, but wise, call to close schools" (Editorials, Feb. 26): My grandchildren attend James Marshall Elementary and their parents acknowledged the strong possibility the school would be closed. They diligently researched their options after being well advised by the district.
One of the options was indeed open enrollment at Sequoia. However, only one of their three children was assured of a spot; the other two were not. Open enrollment does not mean there is a spot for every child at every grade level.
Finally, what is the current enrollment at Sequoia and how many openings at Sequoia? The numbers don't add up. Revisit closure again next year? Why?
