Re "Agency obscures facts for twin tunnels project" (Another View, March 3): Critics of Gov. Jerry Brown's proposal for a more environmentally sound way to divert water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta call the California Department of Water Resources' steady release of information about the plan "a sop to critics."
The plan would stabilize both the Delta ecosystem and water deliveries. Draft chapters will be released over the coming month, including details of the costs and funding sources for the plan. Those details will demonstrate our commitment to the principle that beneficiaries of such a project pay their fair share.
We will welcome questions at three separate public meetings in Sacramento scheduled over the next several weeks. Visit www.baydeltaconservationplan.com for more information.
