Re "Will Dick Cheney ever repent? Don't hold your breath" (Viewpoints, March 7): Reading Maureen Dowd's column reminded me how much I miss Dick Cheney.
Despite her personal loathing and hatred for the man, the hit piece cannot pinpoint anything scandalous, whatsoever, for a man with 40 years in public service.
A man of his integrity and honesty is devoid of any personal or public scandal of any kind. All that's left to smear him is typical liberal poppycock and false innuendos.
If only he could have been the president for eight years, and then passed the baton to W. for another eight. After the first eight years, W. would have learned enough from such a brilliant and decent mentor.
What a shame to see the country headed down the current course where there will be no return.
