A warming trend begins today that is expected to lead to a string of 70 degree readings. High pressure building over the Sacramento region will bring above normal temperatures and fair skies. The high today will still be in the low 60s, but on Saturday a sharp climb begins with the high expected to reach 68 degrees.
Then, on Sunday, look for a stretch of days where the temperature will reach at least 70 degrees.
The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the National Weather Service:
Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 63. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming southeast after midnight.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 68. Light north northeast wind becoming north northwest 8 to 13 mph in the morning.
Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 37. North northwest wind 6 to 13 mph.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind 3 to 5 mph.
Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 71.
Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 44.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 73.
Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72.
Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73.
