Walmart will open its new 148,200-square-foot store in Elk Grove on Wednesday.
Ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 10075 Bruceville Road are scheduled for 7:30 a.m., and the store will open to the public at 8 a.m.
The store, managed by Jorge Sabido, brings about 265 new jobs to the area.
Daily store hours will be 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
"We welcome the economic opportunity, value and convenience this newest Walmart store brings to Elk Grove," said Angela Perry, president and CEO of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce. "Walmart has become one of the largest employers in Elk Grove and is an involved community partner."
Wednesday's festivities include product samplings, giveaways and promotions.
Officials said $4,000 in grants from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation will be presented to local organizations, including Elk Grove Food Bank Services and the Elk Grove Police Activities League.
