Re "Actually, more laws may reduce firearm deaths" (Editorials, March 11): The editorial's subheading was, "More research needed on gun violence." Well, have we tried this?
Have a bipartisan group of U.S. politicians look into how other Western nations handle the problem. If it's found that other nations have less violence (and they do), then find out why and see if we can adopt some of their policies. If we can't get a bipartisan group to go, then that may help explain America's problem. If necessary, send a partisan group -- but send people willing to take an honest look at how we stack up with our Western counterparts.
