Kylie Kuhns had 13 points and 14 rebounds Wednesday night as the Sacramento State women beat Idaho State 73-60 in the first round of the Big Sky Conference tournament in Missoula, Mont., Sac State reported.
The fifth-seeded Hornets (19-11) face top-seeded Montana in the semifinals at 12:30 p.m. Friday. The teams split their two regular-season meetings.
The fourth-seeded Bengals (18-12) had beaten Sac State in both regular-season meetings and the semifinals of last season's conference tournament.
Sac State made 9 of 18 from three-point range, with Alle Moreno and Natasha Torgerson hitting three each. Moreno had 12 points, and Torgerson scored 11.
The Hornets trailed 34-33 at halftime but moved ahead with a 15-6 run to begin the second half. Torgerson sank two three-pointers in the run.
Idaho State, which had won seven of its previous nine games, committed 11 second-half turnovers that resulted in 14 points for Sac State.
