The Sacramento-based California New Car Dealers Association has selected longtime official Brian Maas as its new president.
He replaces Peter Welch, who in January was selected as president of the McLean, Va.-based National Automobile Dealers Association. Welch had served as CNCDA president since 2003.
Maas has directed CNCDA's political activities and served as the association's chief legislative advocate for more than 11 years.
"I'm excited and honored to be selected to lead California's dealers. New car dealerships are the engine driving our state's economic recovery by leading the way in job creation and tax generation," Maas said.
The CNCDA board of directors chose Maas at its Wednesday meeting.
