• MASTER GARDENER WORKSHOP

Citrus, building good soil, vermicomposting and worm bins will be in the spotlight during this workshop with dozens of master gardeners. They'll help solve other garden dilemmas, too.


• WHAT'S BLOOMING IN THE CEMETERY?

Hosted by local perennials expert Robert Hamm, this fundraiser for the Sunburst Projects' camp fund for children affected by HIV/AIDS features hundreds of perennials including many unusual varieties. Find wood poppies, tall hybrid phlox, hostas, California natives and much more.


• SAN FRANCISCO FLOWER SHOW

Where: San Mateo Event Center, 1346 Saratoga Drive, San Mateo

This gigantic show features 20 major display gardens plus 30 small-space gardens created by innovative designers. A marketplace doubles last year's space. Lots of food and gardening seminars, too.
