Sacramento Bee readers share their gardening adventures.

Marjorie Witt, a longtime Carmichael resident, has seen a variety of creatures visit her garden. But in late February, she had a huge surprise – a fox on her fence.

With her camera, Witt captured the redheaded prowler walking on top of her backyard fence like a cat. She lives a few blocks from the American River, south of Fair Oaks Boulevard near Arden Way.

"In the over 50 years we have lived here, we have never seen a fox in our garden," she said. "So, we thought Bee readers would enjoy the picture."
