Sunny skies and warm temperatures are expected to dominate the weather in Sacramento this weekend.
The National Weather Service is predicting mid to upper 70s for today, but that will drop down into the lower 70s for tomorrow. Temperatures will keep dropping in anticipation of a storm that will make its way into the region Tuesday evening.
"Considering how dry it's been, the storm is relevant," said Drew Peterson, a forecaster with the weather service in Sacramento. "But as far as storms go, it's not that powerful."
The storm is expected to bring anywhere from a quarter to half an inch of rain in Sacramento. The system will also bring at least a foot of snow in the Sierra Nevada at the 6,000- 7,000-foot pass level.
