A moderate rainstorm is expected to move into Northern California today.
The National Weather Service is calling for rain and wind up to about 10 mph with showers continuing into Wednesday.
In total, the Sacramento region should receive a quarter- to a half-inch of precipitation. A half-inch to an inch of rain could be recorded in the foothills.
In the Sierra Nevada, the oncoming storm is forecast to bring 4 to 8 inches of snow, mainly above the 6,500-foot level.
